Departure Guarantee Insurance (Severance Pay) for EPS Workers 출국만기보험
If you worked at the same workplace in Korea for 1 year or more under the Employment Permit System (E-9 or H-2), your employer has been saving your severance pay in an insurance policy. You have to claim it yourself when you leave. Follow the steps below in order.
Can I get this money?
Answer 2 quick questions.
Do you work in Korea on an E-9 or H-2 visa (Employment Permit System)?
This insurance is only for workers hired under the Employment Permit System (E-9, H-2). For other visas, ask your employer about regular severance pay, or call 1350.
Have you worked continuously for 1 year or more at your current workplace?
If you worked less than 1 year at this workplace, the insurance money goes back to your employer, not to you.
You can most likely claim it yourself. Follow the 4 steps below, starting about 1 month before your flight.
