Return Cost Insurance: get your own money back when you leave Korea 귀국비용보험
E-9 and H-2 workers must buy Return Cost Insurance (귀국비용보험) within 3 months of starting work. You paid for it yourself, not your company, and you get that money back when you leave Korea. You can claim it on the same Samsung Fire form as Departure Guarantee Insurance.
Can I get this money?
Answer 2 quick questions.
Did you pay for Return Cost Insurance when you started working in Korea?
If you never joined, there is no money to get back. Call Samsung Fire at 1600-0266 to check your status.
Are you leaving Korea for good (visa ending, leaving early for personal reasons, or leaving after you left your workplace)?
A short trip abroad does not count. You can claim only when you leave Korea for good.
You can get your money back. Report your departure at the Job Center, then send your claim to Samsung Fire 1 month to 7 days before you fly.
